U.S. CATTLE REPORT: Another great week for beef exports; April cattle slaughter; Extreme heat in Texas; Wheat down 77 cents in 2 days; Crude rallies on weak dollar
CATTLE MARKETS: Cash trade was limited to a few thousand head from $138-$144 and $225-$228 in the beef. Corn values are off 6-8 cents in overnight trade, which should provide a lift to feeders ahead of this afternoons' on feed report (Schwieterman)
CORN MARKETS: Both the old crop and new crop contracts are at solid support areas, so holding here would make sense. Lower prices are only going to attract more demand, which would in turn further tighten supplies (Schwieterman)
GRAIN TRENDS (Short Term/Long Term): CORN: Down/Up; WHEAT: Up/Up; SOYBEANS: Up/Up
CATTLE TRENDS (Short Term/Long Term): LIVE: Down/Down; FEEDERS: Down/Down
LIVESTOCK SLAUGHTER: Total Red Meat Production Down 3 Percent from Last Year
DROUGHT MONITOR: The Southwest and western parts of the Central and Southern Plains have been dry and windy (with extreme heat in Texas)
